Some adorable videos of dogs waiting for Santa

Jack Russell Terrier waiting for santa

In the first video, a cute little Jack Russell Terrier has his dog house all decorated with lights. He puts out the traditional cookies and milk, and restlessly awaits the arrival of Santa Claus.

In the second video, we get to watch Tuppy prepare for the arrival of Santa to his home.

Video | Beagles rescued from lab. Seeing sunlight and grass for the first time.

Beagle stepping foot on grass for the first time

This footage shows male beagles that were rescued from a California university animal testing lab seeing sunlight and stepping on grass for the first time.

The rescue mission, which happened in June, was recently followed by a much larger one from a lab in Spain. The group that undertook the cause, Animal Rescue Media Education (ARME), rescued a total of 72 dogs in the most recent effort, 32 of them having already been adopted in Europe, according to NBC Los Angeles.

ARME’s Beagle Freedom Project spokesman Gary Smith told the station that the beagles, all between ages 2 and 7, had lived in cages their entire lives.

Unfortunately, beagles’ notoriously obedient dispositions makes them ideal for experimentation. According to the Beagle Freedom Project’s website, they are the breed of choice for lab testing of pharmaceutical, household, and cosmetic products due to their ability to adapt to life in a cage and the fact that they are relatively inexpensive to feed.

When the beagles are no longer needed for research, some labs contact organizations such as ARME, who then work to find good homes for the dogs.

This heartbreaking (that soundtrack!) video was filmed back in June, when the organization brought nine beagles to Los Angeles to get a second chance at life. We dare you not to be moved by that first beagle’s initial tentative steps and soulful eyes.

ARME is a non-profit advocacy group and 501(c)(3) organization funded by tax-deductible contributions. Information on how to make a donation or adopt a beagle is available on the organization’s website.

A Dog Named Faith | The two-legged walking wonder

A dog called Faith 01

This dog was born on Christmas Eve in the year 2002. She was born with 2 legs – She of course could not walk when he was born. Even her mother did not want him.

Her first owner also did not think that she could survive and he was thinking of ‘putting him to sleep’. But then, her present owner, Jude Stringfellow, met her and wanted to take care of her. She became determined to teach and train this little dog to walk by himself.. She named her ‘Faith’.

In the beginning, she put Faith on a surfboard to let her feel the movement. Later she used peanut butter on a spoon as a lure and reward for her for standing up and jumping around. Even the other dog at home encouraged her to walk. Amazingly, only after 6 months, like a miracle, Faith learned to balance on her hind legs and to jump to move forward. After further training in the snow, she could now walk like a human being.

Faith loves to walk around now. No matter where she goes, she attracts people to her. She is fast becoming famous on the international scene and has appeared on various newspapers and TV shows. There is now a book entitled ‘With a Little Faith’ being published about her. She was even considered to appear in one of Harry Potter movies.

Her present owner Jude Stringfellew has given up her teaching post and plans to take her around the world to preach that even without a perfect body, one can have a perfect soul’.

This is just too cute!  The commentary adds a bit of flavor, too.  These are going to be two BFF’s!
